OMV opened the fuel storage facility at the Grădişte yard

The investment in the largest regional fuel distribution center in western Romania reaches 18 million EUR.

Mayor Gheorghe Falcă said at a news conference on Tuesday that construction of the OMV-Petrom fuel storage site in Grădişte began in early January. It is the largest regional fuel distribution center in western Romania - in fact, it is one of the largest investments at the level of Arad municipality.

"It is an investment of over 18 million euros, which will make Arad a" hub "on the railway, on the transport, but also on the logistics, whereby the cargo is fuel. This means that for industries that consume a lot of fuel, Arad will become a very attractive city." - emphasized Gheorghe Falcă.

The mayor also said that, along with the investor, the local administration is still working on the road connection between Cometei Street and the northern ring of the city. At this moment, the tendering procedure is in progress, for which the Municipality allocated 7.047.245 lei (VAT excluded). The deadline for submitting bids is February 5, 2018.

"The road will be completed in time for OMV Petrom as well as for the people in the area, creating a new industrial zone on the suburb of the city and limiting the heavy traffic in Micălaca and Grădişte"- concluded the Arad's president.
